Bates is currently the chief of Cardiac Surgery at Baptist Medical Center in downtown Jacksonville. He has performed over 500 robotic cardiothoracic procedures and is a proctor for Intuitive Surgical to train and mentor surgeons learning robotic thoracic surgery.ĭr.
